What do printers, routers and purpose have in common?
A parable moment where God used a router and printer to show me how to get clear on who you are and what makes you unique.
Hey friend!
A few years back, we bought the EcoTank wireless printer. Sounds like a boss printer, right?
This printer is supposed to be unique because you rarely have to change the ink. As a homeschool family who prints often, this seemed like a good deal.
For a good while the printer was working great. Our investment was paying off. Success!
But then it started refusing to work. Like a 2-year old child not wanting to eat their vegetables. The printer would go from a few seconds to print to taking an hour to print one page. Super efficient.
But the reviews said this printer was awesome. Why is not working for us?!
So over the next few months we took all the steps to troubleshoot. Updating the firmware, turning it on and off, resetting the wifi, reconnecting to the wifi, throwing it against the wall. You know, the usual.
But one day, I noticed the wifi icon was showing a poor connection.
I thought...No, that can't be it. Is it that simple?
So, I unplugged the printer and moved it to our bedroom to get it closer to the router. And what do you know? It was working flawlessly! Printing fast, no error messages you can't understand.
I mean it's a wireless printer. It would make since that a strong connection to wifi is required. And the strong connection caused the printer to work as designed.
In that moment, I realized it's the same with God and us. As we get closer to the Father, our true design is revealed. After all, He is the maker of your heart and all the desires within it.
As you go throughout your week, take some steps to get closer to the Creator. He wants to show you more of who you were made to be.
