Complex polychords and hearing the voice of God
Hi there,
I came across a YouTube video where this insane kid could tell you single notes, intervals, and complex polychords.
It's the difference between trying to solve a simple addition math problem and an advanced trigonometry problem.
What this kid was able to do takes years of practice. Starting off with getting familiar with individual notes. Then moving to 2 notes together. Then 3, 4, and so on. Then moving to complex chord voicings where the notes are re-arranged.
And it got me thinking about hearing the voice of God.
There are so many voices screaming for our attention. It's essential to be able to distinguish the voice of Holy Spirit.
The longer you're around His voice, the easier it becomes to pick out. You can find it among the noise, even in complicated situations and decisions.
Hear me...God knows the answers to the problems you're facing. He's the expert in the new skill you're trying to develop. He wants to partner with and guide you.
So, how do we reach a point where we can instantly hear God telling us our next step?
We spend quality time with Him.
Quality time doesn't just happen. To spend time, we have to make the time.
And as we make time, we get to know the sound of His whisper. As we make time to read His Word, we start to understand his heart and the things He values.
Make time to spend time with the Father today.
