Sowing seeds of love
Hey there,
Last night, I took my four daughters to our first daddy-daughter dance.
I've never been much of a dancer. I mean, I show my kids all the time the "cool" dance moves where I act like a fool. But if I danced as I do at home, they'd quickly be looking for the exit.
Reflecting on the evening, I had quite a few favorite moments, but one that caught my attention was looking around and seeing the dance floor filled with hundreds of fathers dancing with their daughters.
Above the surface, there was a memory created. Beneath the surface, there was a seed of love sowed.
An "I see you, and I love you" seed. A small moment that said I'm not that great of a dancer. In fact, I'm pretty awful. But I know this means something to you. I know you will remember this for the rest of your life.
Spending time with someone is one thing. But if we want to plant seeds of love, we should spend time with that person doing something they enjoy.
Every time we show up and give someone an "I see you" moment, we give them a glimpse of the Father's heart.
One final thought. Some seeds have the right time and place to plant. The conditions have to be suitable for the seed to grow. But sowing love seeds is not conditional. You don't have to be a dad. You don't have to be at a daddy-daughter dance. You can create an "I see you" moment with anyone at any time.
