Hi there!
A few days ago, my kids and I were on our way home from a restaurant. Delainey says from the back of the car, "Daddy, my leg hurts." It had been a super long day. Her body was exhausted.
We were about 7 minutes away from home, so I tell her we can get some medicine when we get home.
And then I had a thought. Why wait? Why not pray for healing now?
So I invited Caitlyn (my other daughter) to pray for her. I turn down the music, and she prays.
When we arrived at the house, I asked Delainey if her leg still hurt. She said no, it feels better!
I started thinking about my immediate reaction to the situation.
My first thought wasn't to pray. It was to get some medicine. But the reality is I have access to the healer at any moment of every single day. My kids have access to Him as well.
So, why wait?
I'm not against doctors, medicine or natural solutions. If God wants to use those things, I'm fine with it.
But I want my first instinct to always be...let's pray. Because that reveals that my confidence and trust is in Him. And to be honest, God will always have the best solution.
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. — Proverbs 3:5-6
I need to get better at that!
